Bust Craftacular meets Maker Faire...or vice versa.

There is a part of me that is crazy and want's to apply for this.  Even though that's probably not the wisest idea.  I am really just a sucker for any excuse to go to NYC.  hmmmmmm

Portland Handmade Nation

I wouldn't say that Portland and Seattle are rivals but Seattle craft folks kinda get sick of how much "cooler" Portland's art and craft scene is. Here is a nod to the awesome stuff going on in Portland. BUT I have faith that when Faythe brings Handmade Nation to Seattle (Oct. 10th and 11th) that we can represent.

Craft Magazine

I just got the latest issue of Craft and it is awesome! Seriously. I am going to wait and read it on the plane but it took restraint. It's a really fun issue full of fun projects AND my favorite lady, Amy Sedaris graces the cover.

Plush You SF

So SF was great! I had so much fun at Bazaar Bizarre. It was so nice to meet new people including my neighbor Lauren of Sweat Meats fame, see some old friends and see all the wonderful crafts that people make. A HUGE THANK YOU to Jamie for all of her amazing work. She is so on top of things and has a wonderful reputation that is more than well deserved!

The show at Double Punch was so much fun! I met even more new people like Anna Chambers (whom I have wanted to meet forever) and saw new/old friends. It was a nice flow of people. Sometimes it was really crowded and at other times it was mellow so you actually got time to talk with people which was really nice. Apparently they had so much traffic on their site that it crashed. I believe they will be putting all the work on their website but check out the many great pictures from Designs by L or Knit Sonya (whom it was also very very nice to meet!)

Lastly a BIG Thank You to Double Punch for hosting us and to Craft for bringing the most amazing cupcakes ever!

I will also be getting my pictures up today hopefully.

Craft Magazine Release Party

And you are invited!

Craft Magazine Release Party – Seattle!

Come play with us as Urban Craft Uprising hosts our very first CRAFT magazine release party! Join us Sunday, September 7th, 1 - 4pm, to celebrate. CRAFT 08 has a focus on weaving, so we'll be right at home at Stitches - your 'not just your typical fabric store' in Capitol Hill. We'll have free hands-on craft projects including paper looms from the mag and Kristen Rask from Schmancy will be there to teach us how to make button rings. Our own Moxie, of Made by Moxie, will demo her Felted Flower Flair Kit, also featured in the magazine.

When you add in the snacks, door prizes and the irresistible fashion fabrics, notions, and yarn at Stitches, you have a must-attend event on your hands! We hope you'll stop in, have some nibbles, and CRAFT with us.

Craft Ideas

It's Sunday. I have a short day at Schmancy and then I have a day off! I am looking for a fun project to do for my "weekend". I thought I would share some of them with you.

This cute Tooth Bear would make a great gift for those kids loosing teeth.

This Reversible Purse is really cute and perfect for the summer!

I am kind of obsessed with making some baby booties for some reason. These are super cute and look simple enough.

This is a perfect gift for the summer bbq's and picnics and it's so cute!

Lastly, this little kids dress is really adorable.
