I used to live in SF and sometimes I still wonder if I should just move back there. I LOVE that city. I love Seattle too and can enjoy life on a smaller budget here which is one reason why I stay. But I always love visiting SF and I am so happy I have a cool family I can stay with and hang out with as well. Anyways, please come by and see us at You Bazaar! this Sunday. You Bazaar!
When craft show and indie arts collide…you get You Bazaar!

This November, organizers of the Bazaar Bizarre and curator of Plush You are teaming up to bring you the indie collaboration known as You Bazaar!

Bazaar Bizarre began in Boston back in 2001 as a hodge-podge of friends and acquaintances cobbling together their handcrafted DIY wares to sell. Since then Bazaar Bizarre has expanded to LA, Cleveland, San Francisco and the Maker Faire in Austin and San Mateo. San Francisco based BB organizer, Jamie Chan has been active in the art community for years and is gearing up to open her own fiber shop, Mary Jane’s Attic in the Sunset District of SF.

Plush You was started by Kristen Rask, owner of a small shop called Schmancy in Seattle, WA back in 2004. Plush You started as a way to highlight the fantastic plush movement within the DIY community. Since then, Kristen has had a book published called Plush you: Loveable misfits to sew and stuff and is curating two plush shows this year; one in Seattle and then one at Double Punch Gallery in North Beach.

Jamie and Kristen decided to join forces to create You Bazaar! You Bazaar! will be on November 2nd 2008 from 10am to 5pm at the San Francisco County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park. You Bazaar! will feature 30 select craft vendors selling quality handmade wares and a series of rotating workshops throughout the day with some of your favorite plush designers. The booth is $65 for the day. Please visit Bazaar Bizarre to apply. While Jamie and Kristen would like to use this event to promote plush art they welcome all other crafters to apply for a vendor space. This will be a fun family friendly event to kick off the Plush You SF Show, opening Friday, November 7th 2008 and excite customers for the shopping extravaganza Holiday Bazaar Bizarre on Sunday, November 30th 2008.

Please come celebrate the art of plush, learn new crafty skills and shopping with indie artists! More information will be available soon.
