This Sunday be in Portland!

I will be in Portland this weekend for Crafty Wonderland. It's a one day event full of tons of awesomeness. I will be doing a demo from 11:00 to 12:30 and then the lovely Susan Beal will be doing a demo on button hair clips! I can't wait to be there, see some old friends, meet some new folks and get some more holiday gifts! Here is the full demo schedule if you can make it.

Urban Craft Uprising

This morning I woke up feeling like a little kid the day before Christmas. I am really excited for Urban Craft Uprising!. It is going to be a great time so I hope those of you in the area can make it. I am really looking forward to doing a craft workshop with Susan Beal. We will be making accessories and hair clips using buttons! Susan's book, Button It Up will be for sale both days and she will be there signing it on Saturday. This will also be my first time promoting my book, Button And Stitch, that comes out this December. There are tons of other exciting things happening this weekend so I hope to see you all there!

Urban Craft Uprising is still taking applications

We are so happy to confirm some amazing authors to this show! Jenny Hart has just let us know that she will be attending and we are thrilled! She will have a booth selling all of her amazing patterns and will be signing her books both days at our author signing booth.

Susan Beal will be up on Saturday for a book signing and will then do a workshop for a button project as she just came out with her book, Button it Up. Coming up with Susan is the lovely, Diane Gilleland signing her new book, Kanzashi in Bloom. After her signing she too will be doing a workshop from her new book.

One of the lovely ladies that started UCU, Nikola Davidson will be signing her new book with co-author Brookelynn Morris for their book, Feltique. They will also be doing a workshop both days!

Button It Up

I am convinced now that Susan Beal and myself should live in the same city. It's a shame we don't. When I started reading her blog I thought we had a lot in common. Now with all the books she has done, I KNOW we have a lot in common. With her recent release of the beautiful book, Button It Up: 80 Amazing Vintage Button Projects for Necklaces, Bracelets, Embellishments, Housewares & More, I am convinced we at least need to see each other more often. I have mentioned I am working on a button book here so of course there was a part of me that thought ugh oh. Well I just got her book in the mail today, signed and all and it is lovely. I think our books compliment each other very nicely. There are some amazing projects in there; some you may have seen on the blog circuit already. It really is hard to choose a favorite. As an avid button collector, I love the button collage project, the embellished button pillow is a cute spin on monograms, I love the napkin rings and the triple deck feedsack necklace just screams summer bling. If you haven't picked up your copy yet, what are you waiting for?
