Plush You Weekend!!!

It's coming soon my friends!  SO SOON!!!!  Here are some fun activities that will be happening around the most fun weekend EVER!

#1: Hanging Party!  If you love seeing the goods before the rest of the world does, come help hang the show.  What happens is you help bring work down to Schmancy, you help tag, you help hang and you help make the show look amazing!  And in return you get to stake your claim!  Not to mention we have fun.  When? October 7th 6-it's done (9ish?).  Where? Schmancy 1932 2nd ave.  Please let me know if you would like to join in the fun at kristen(at)schmancytoys(dot)com

#2: Breakfast at Le Pichet.  My tradition is to go and eat delicious breakfast at Le Pichet on 1st ave the morning of Plush You!  Gotta get lot's of protein for the day!  All are welcome.  Come talk plush and eat some delicious breakfast.  If you are visiting and staying at The Moore Hotel it's right around the corner!  I will be there at 9:30 on Oct. 8th.  Will you join me?

#3: PLUSH YOU!!!!!  The opening reception is October 8th from 5:00 to 9:00.  AFTER the opening we will go to the Nite Lite, attached to The Moore Hotel to continue the party.  Talk plush over some cocktails!

#4: Celebrate the release of Alicia Kachmar's new book, Witch Craft, on Saturday at Cakespy Shop.  Alicia is also one of the artists in this year's show!  All info found here.  yummmmm

Plush You! Seattle!

Hey loveys,

I just sent those participating in Plush You! here in Seattle an email.  Please let me know asap if you didn't get it.
I can't believe the show is so soon!  So much to do.  I am super excited though.  I have heard many of you are coming to the opening.  Who's coming?  I am thinking there should be a party after the opening again at the Nite Lite since many of you stay at The Moore Hotel.  We are thinking about some other fun events to keep the party going all weekend!  More to come soon!

Plush You Seattle

I hope there was enough time for the dust to settle with Plush You! L.A. so that I can now announce that applications are up for Plush You! here in Seattle.  As always, the show in Seattle is in October (opening reception is Oct. 8th) Please read this thoroughly if you plan on applying as there are a few new rules.

#1: I am going to start having a very small application fee ($5).  I hope that this small fee is not a big deal for anyone and I have many reasons for doing it.

#2: Please send the following pieces of information to plushyou2010seattle(at)gmail(dot)com
                               a) Your name
                             b) THREE PHOTOS ONLY that represent the kind of work you do.  I know you get    excited about your work and want to show all your best but there is one of me and hundreds of you.  I will not process applications if these photos are links.  Just send jpeg images as an attachment.  It's really hard for me to make decisions when I have to go back and forth between links and such.  So please send images as attachments ONLY.

#3: Once all information has been received you will get a confirmation email letting you know that your application has been processed.

#4: Deadline for applications is May 10th.  I will make my decisions by May 18th and send out all acceptance letters or sadly rejection letters.

How does she decide????
This is the hardest decision to make.  Some of the judges for the Schmancy Olympic Challenge got a glimmer of how hard it is.  Things that I consider include any and all of the following: the quality of work, i am always trying to showcase a variety of work that represents different mediums in which plush is made, where you live (esp. for L.A.), types of work to have a nice balance (cute, creepy, cuddly).
