Schmancy Olympic Challenge
This thing has become HUGE! I had no idea. Since I have my normal work to get to I want to write all rules here. Then I am going to start emailing you with your category. Tomorrow is the deadline to sign up and then it is CLOSED. We are pushing 180 people now and wow. When am I gonna work?
RULES:
Once you have your assignment you have about a month to create your work. You are totally allowed to blog about it, flickr it, facebook it or whatever.
Plush is anything stuffed or cuddly. So you can sew it, felt it, crochet it or knit it.
Your interpretation on each category is up to you. If it's figure skating, you can make your critter skate, make a whole scene, or make an ice skate. It's up to you. If you get "made up sport" you are required to give us a little description of said sport.
We will be judging on your interpretation of the sport, craftmanship and creativity. There will be a gold medalist, silver medalist and bronze medalist chosen for each category. Oh and you will actually get a plushie medal! More on that later.
You have NO LATER than Feb. 26th to send me an email with your name, link to site or blog and a photo of your piece. Make sure that photo is good please and a good size to put up on this blog. Nothing huge, nothing small. Send photos to kristen(at)schmancytoys(dot)com.
DO NOT MAKE THE ACTUAL MASCOTS!
And most importantly here is to have fun. This is for fun. Don't be intimidated by the size or the judges or anything like that (i have heard this numerous times now). Please just have a good time doing this!
LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

180! Wow! This could be its own show!
Can't wait to get my category!
oh man, please don't put anymore ideas in my head. i am so tired. :)
Awesome!! I am super excited about my category!!
Can't wait to get my category....
One question about the photos = what pixel/dpi is a good size for you? Usually online stuff is 72 dpi - which is okay, but not great for quality. But if we all have the same dpi, then it shouldn't matter. No rush to answer - pictures are a ways away - just before I ned to send something. thanks. I am getting some fun ideas.
I just received my category and as I said before, this is super exciting!
How do you get a category? I want in!!
I just got my category! And I already have several ideas. Now to choose which one! YAY!
This is going to be so much fun!
got my category and the brainstorming has begun!
Weeeeeee!
I'm excited. Thanks for the great challenge!
*brainstorms...*
We should have a blog button! I'll try and make one, if that's okay.
Hailey, that would be awesome.
Does a snowboarding monster go in the skiing category
Is is possible for you to keep our identity anonymous from the judges?
If you want that you will not get linked on my blog but I guess so
im getting ideas for my plush ....
how do we send our pics in? do we email it to you?
Hi,
You mentioned that you were changing the due date for final submissions. Have you decided what that is?
Susie
It is not due until March 16th now and you can email me your photos to kristen(at)schmancytoys(dot)com
*smooch* love you, thanks for pushing back the date a bit!
Hi everyone! Is it confirmed that the submission date is 16th of March? I'm a bit late with my creation...
Thank you!
NO, there's no need to keep it anonymous. When will we find out who the judges are? Have you posted this already?
The judges were announced a long time ago and you can see them all starting here: http://plushyou.blogspot.com/2010/01/meet-our-judges_19.html and then continue through older posts.
I'm so excited to see everybodies submissions!
