Book Club

By House of Mouse

One thing I have been trying to do more of is read. I am currently on a Haven Kimmel kick. Haven bought something off my site several months ago and I actually emailed her to ask her if she was "THE HAVEN KIMMEL"? She was. I told her how much I loved the book A Girl Named Zippy: Growing Up Small in Mooreland, Indiana. It's HILARIOUS! If I could have a kid like her I might not be so scared to have a kid. She said if I liked that one I would love She Got Up Off the Couch. She was right! I loved it! I would suggest starting with Zippy though. I am almost done with Something Rising (Light and Swift): A Novel. It's really beautifully written.

Here are some of the themes she deals with in her books.

Pool

Riding bikes

Living in a very small town

VW Bugs

And of course family

Any suggestions of what I should read next?

have you read "A Dirty Job" by christopher moore? I found that book pretty funny. Its about this average dad who becomes Death. I'm not sure if that would be your cup of tea, but maybe it'll be something you like?

My absolute favorite book in the entire world is The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. It makes the movie look like a horrible horrible unimaginative piece of crap!
His other book, Momo, is also fantastic.

I also love
Memoirs of a Geisha
Black Coffee Blues by Henry Rollins
Hard Love by Ellen Wittlinger
