Totally OT

Happy Father's Day to all of you out there that might be a father. I love my dad and think he's the best father out there so there you have it. My dad is also super hard to shop for so I feel like a lot of times I get him food related items. Like really good chocolate, salmon, jam, etc. I am doing some grocery shopping this evening and in the midst of looking for recipes, I thought I might share a few distractions with you.

Such as the delicious looking pie Megan made recently. I want to make this right now!

I am planning on making these for July 4th.

And Mango Avocado Salsa

This week I am going to be really busy getting ready for next weekends IHR. I am trying to pick out some quick and easy recipes so I can use most of my time for sewing.

This recipe looks really simple but delicious.

If you like and eat fish, these fish tacos sound really good.

If you don't eat meat, this recipe for black bean and carrot burritos with cilantro might be more up your alley.

This recipe for zucchini with gruyere sounds good. I might put it on top of some polenta to make it a full meal.

About a month ago or so I was addicted to making a soba salad about once a week. Then I kinda burnt out on it but this recipe sounds like a nice spin on my standard soba salad and perfect for the summer heat!

It is also that time of year where kids are out of school. I really loved cooking with kids when I either babysat or worked in day care.

Here is a simple dessert you can make with your kids that is more or less out of this world!

Make a batch of Martha Stewart's Thin and Crisp Chocolate Chip cookies but do not bake them into cookies. When the batter is prepared, scoop several tablespoons into small ramekins (about 1/2 full) such as these Tag - Ramekins - Set of 4 - #550583. Then bake at 350 degrees until the cookie is lightly browned on the top. Put them on small plates such as Waechtersbach Small Flat Square Plate, Set of 2, Cherry and add a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream. This dessert is always a huge hit at any dinner party!

That post just made me super hungry! I am off for some food.
