I heart my new sewing machine!

This is my new sewing machine. It is a "Kenmore Drop-In Bobbin Sewing Machine with 31 Stitches, Built-in 1-Step Buttonhole." Why did I buy it? Well I wanted another sewing machine so I could have one at home and then one at Schmancy. My friend got this sewing machine for Christmas from her mom who is a quilter and seems to sew a lot and know a lot about sewing machines. As Pamela and I were looking for similar things in a sewing machine (for making stuffed creatures, working with heavier materials, etc.), I trusted her mom's purchase and got this one for myself. (Well actually my mom got it for me for Christmas too...i am a copy cat.)

I used it once at Pamela's before my purchase and really liked how smooth it was. I realized that maybe I was a better sewer than I thought. I sewed a perfectly straight line! I really like how you can control the speed. I have an older Kenmore (10 years old) and have never had a problem with it so I also trust the brand. I like this one because of all the different stitches that my older Kenmore does not offer, the ability to control the speed, the built- in buttonhole and that it was recommended for quilters which is what I aim to be. ALSO to be perfectly honest, the selling point was the turtle and bunny and the color. I am being honest. I look forward to many happy years with my new Kenmore.

Here are the highlights from their website:

Great for quilting. Features blanket stitch capability, walking foot and 1/4 in. seam foot. Comes with several user-friendly electronic functions and a generous stitch package, plus ergonomic design.

31 stitches/54 functions
Built-in 1-step automatic buttonhole with auto-stop
Built-in needle threader
Walking foot and 1/4 in. seam foot included for quilting
Presser foot pressure adjustment to smoothly feed fabrics of all weights
Stretch stitch and buttonhole pitch adjustment for superior stitch quality
7-pc. feed dog system to effortlessly feed fabric of any thickness
Two 1-touch electronic functions
Electronic sewing speed control lever

Happy sewing.
xoxo

I got this machine last year for my birthday. I love it! And, yes, the turtle and the bunny are super cute. :)

Excellent! My hubby and I are shopping for a new machine and this was our top choice after skimming Sears. (We have a gift card from our wedding, so Sears was it.) Thanks for sharing your experience! :-)

One word: Drool.

Some more words: I don't have a sewing machine yet, so all of my critters have to be made by hand --which is why I'm not making many critters currently -- but I'm going to be getting one as soon as I possibly can and I'll put this one on my list of possibilities. Thanks for sharing the info, it looks lovely.

Even more words: I don't suppose the fabulous machine has a stitch function that sews the spammers' fingers together so that they can't flood blog posts with their spammy spammy spam?
