Cast your vote!

This Saturday I did something a bit spontaneous and got a ticket to Australia!  I have been saving money for a year to go on a vacation that has nothing to do with work.  No shows, no meetings, no networking.  I wanted a beach and maybe a cocktail, a book and sunshine.  After reading The Boss of You: Everything A Woman Needs to Know to Start, Run, and Maintain Her Own Business I decided I did need to celebrate sometimes. I work like crazy and I want to feel like it's all worth it. I mean I do all the time because of people like YOU but it's really hard owning your own business. And going on this trip not only makes me feel really excited but it makes me feel like I can have a life and own Schmancy. And I have a free place to stay :)

So, there is NO WAY I can get 200 photos uploaded here in 3 days and linked and voted for.  So the vote here is to either move UP the deadline date for the Olympic Challenge to Feb. 19th OR Move it back to March 16th.  You can just add a comment here for your choice and I will announce the decision here on Friday.

AND if anyone lives in Australia and has any suggestions of what to see I would love to hear! I will be in Brisbane, Byron Beach, Noosa and Sydney! EEEEEEE

  3. My advice in Sydney is to climb the bay bridge, it's truly awesome. Black Box shows at the opera house are also pretty afordable. Also, whatever you don't miss the reef, it's one of those things you'll regret forever.

  5. I am actually missing the Reef. To be honest, I never thought in a million years I would EVER go to Australia and I am going with family. It is too far from where we are going to see. next time.

And when you are in Sydney try to visit Paddy's Markets in Chinatown-you will find so many bargains and cute crafty stuff!
And the reef is definitely something not to miss, so beautiful! Snorkling or scuba diving is a must!

  13. I live in Oz! I'll go from north to south.

Noosa is all about relaxation. Plenty of beach goodness and nature walks.

Halfway between Noosa & Brisbane is Australia Zoo - Stever Irwin's place.

Brisbane (my home town) lots of funky restauarants & bars in West End. Also a great place for eating is Oxford St in Bulimba. Catch the City Cat (high speed ferry) from the city there.

Between Brisbane and Byron Bay is the Gold Coast. A little too flashy/trashy for me but lots of fun theme parks.

Byron again is all about the relaxation. Great beaches, friendly people - very natural & organic focus. Amazing coffee from local growers.

Sydney (where I am now) - loads to do. Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach Walk, hiking in the Blue Mountains, cocktails at the Opera Bar at the Opera House, chocolate indulgence at Boon in Darlinghurst, Taronga Zoo, I could go on.

    Have fun!!!

  15. originally from Syd now further north in bellingen, if you are driving from syd to Brisbane its 10 mins off the highway ( just google it and have a look) its 3 hours south of Byron, the most beautiful waterholes you will ever see in your life...Yes, definately do the Harbour Bridge climb in sydney, catch a ferrie ( a boat on the Harbour) to Manly and eat fish and chips at the beach, swim in the ocean at sunrise, I agree the walk from Bondi to Coogee- beautiful...hundreds of local markets try paddington and glebe markets in sydney. bring sunscreen and insect repellent and a hat!! the sun can be harsh.
HOT TIP: at the beach swim in patrolled areeas between the red and yello flags. have agreat time!!!!

  24. I'll chime in and say move it back to March too!

I live in Sydney and there's heaps of fun things to do. Check out the pubs in The Rocks for a drink or lunch, and the bars at King St Wharf in Darling Harbour are also great.

The Museum of Contemporary Arts is free, and near The Rocks/ Circular Quay, it has changing exhibits, but there's always something cool there.

Chinatown is fun to walk around, lots of shops with "cute" stuff, and then you can grab a yummy dinner.

Will try and think of more stuff and am happy to recommend restaurants, pubs or shops in Sydney if needed, I'm sure you'll have a great time!
